Leadership journey
Dr. Bass’s leadership story began where healthcare is often at its most immediate and human: emergency nursing. Over more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience, he has worked across emergency nursing, healthcare operations, and executive leadership, building a perspective shaped by urgency, accountability, and the lives behind every decision.
That experience has included service as Vice President of System Emergency Services for a large integrated health system, Interim Chief Nursing Officer, Assistant Vice President, and Director of Emergency Services. Each role required more than operational competence. It required the ability to listen carefully, act decisively, and align teams around the work that matters most.
His academic foundation reflects that same commitment to systems-level leadership. He earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership, Systems, and Health Policy from Yale University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from Ohio University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Charlotte, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mountain State University.
Emergency nurses represented worldwide through 2026 ENA presidential service.

Speaking, consulting, and advisory work
PPP Advisory is an extension of Dr. Bass’s leadership philosophy. It was created for organizations and individuals who need more than a consultant with a checklist. They need a trusted advisor who understands healthcare operations, nursing leadership, executive accountability, and the human realities that shape every outcome.
His work spans healthcare consulting, executive advisory, keynote speaking, leadership development, expert witness services, and legal nurse consulting. In each setting, the objective is the same: help leaders and teams clarify what is true, decide what matters, and move with purpose.

The Power, Purpose, People philosophy
Dr. Bass believes transformation begins when organizations harness the power to lead, the purpose to serve, and the people who make progress possible. Power is not about authority for its own sake; it is the courage to name reality and make responsible decisions. Purpose keeps that power anchored to service. People turn both into sustained change.
Power
The power to lead with clarity when decisions are complex and consequences are real.
Purpose
The purpose to serve patients, teams, communities, and the mission behind the work.
People
The people who make transformation possible: clinicians, leaders, patients, families, and partners.
